Doncaster firm registers 1,000 sites - 12/06/08

A Doncaster-based firm has become the first to register 1,000 sites with the Considerate Constructors Scheme.

Regional newspaper the Sheffield Star reports that community regeneration firm Keepmoat is working with the scheme, which aims to encourage the construction industry to "improve its range".

Considerate Constructors Scheme-registered sites are assessed against a Code of Considerate practice and must implement "best practice beyond statutory requirements".

David Blunt, chief executive of Keepmoat, told the paper: "This is a fantastic achievement and reflects the hard work and consideration that goes into ensuring that wherever we work."

He added that reaching the registration landmark signifies that the firm not only cares about the amount of work it is doing, but the manner in which it is doing it.

Earlier this year, a Keepmoat company Frank Haslam Milan provided a team of building contractors to drive forward a "state-of-the-art" library at Beeston Hill Primary School in Leeds.
