Hessle-based ad company nominated for top award - 27/05/08

A Hessle-based media firm has been nominated for a top honour.

Classlane Media of Hessle, near Hull, was nominated for the Royal Television Society's Yorkshire Best Promotional Award by national hairdressing chain Saks, reports the Hull Daily Mail.

The advertising company produced the hairdresser's promotional video campaign, entitled Indulgence, to emphasise the brand's signature hairstyles created by Andrew Barton of Ten Years Younger fame.

It will face competition from ITV and British News Training Productions if it is to scoop the prize.

Speaking to the news provider, managing director of the advertising company Dave Beasley said that he and his colleagues were "pleasantly surprised" by their nomination.

"I genuinely thought we wouldn't get this far. It's great that we are up there. I think it is the first time a company from this area has got so far," he added.

This follows news that Hull's Wilberforce 2007 marketing campaign has been nominated for two awards at the Chartered Institute of Public Relations Excellence Awards.

It is up for the best Public Sector Campaign and best Integrated Campaign accolades.
