Yorkshire firm reveals its green ambition - 16/04/08
A Yorkshire-based property developer has revealed its green ambition, in time for its tenth birthday.
Sundawn Properties has announced plans to build Hawksmoor Court, a £3 million development in Ripon that will be made using eco-friendly timber frames.
Managing director of the Harrogate-based firm, Greg Smallwood, commented on the environmentally-friendly development.
He said: "Technological advances have propelled timber frame construction into the 21st century as a form of precision engineering.
"Harnessing its attributes is very much a case of going back to the future to reap the advantages for our customers."
Mr Smallwood added that timber frames have "the lowest CO2 cost of any commercially-available building material" and highlighted their potential as a renewable resource.
Sundawn Properties is a family-run firm that was formed over 13 years ago and develops "elegant homes", made from quality materials, boasting attention to detail.
It is also currently developing a collection of Victorian-style houses in the Shadwell and Birchwood area of Leeds, which is still in the planning stages.
The three and four bedroom semi-detached and terraced homes have been designed for the firm by its "Riba award winning architects, Niemens".
