Walt Disney sign contract with market leading Sheffield firm - 16/04/2008

Sheffield media production specialist ZOO Digital has won a 15-year contract with Walt Disney Studio Motion Pictures.
The contract is expected to generate at least $15m for the Sheffield company, which is the market leader for creating interactive DVDs.
The firm has also announced another major agreement – for Sony Pictures International to license ZOO’s Templated Authoring System and use it in the production of DVDs.
In a trading update, ZOO said that its recent acquisition of Scope Seven, a Los Angeles-based company which prepares DVDs for Hollywood studios, had significantly improved the firm’s ability to penetrate the US market. Additionally, ZOO’s DVD-EXTRA technology has enabled the company to attract some major US clients such as Hasbro and Mattel.
In a statement, the company said: “With the introduction of new major customers and additional revenue streams based on a proven, market-tested product set the Board looks forward to a year of significant progress both financially and operationally.”
